The value of early sketches
As important as they are at the time, early sketches are simply a means to an end. They help to steer designs in a certain direction by a process of trial and error. I keep all concepts, no matter how rough, as a personal record of each job. They rarely see the light of day once a job is finished, so I was more than a little surprised to find some rough ideas framed and mounted on the boardroom wall of a company who’s logo I designed a few years back. You can see the finished logo here.
